托福干货 | 10月托福家考写作新题解析

大家现在应该都知道ETS出新题的频率比之前高了许多，虽然不少新题是基于老题的“魔改长题”，但是如果硬生生地拿简版原题的理由去套魔改长题，却不是每次都奏效的。今天，我们就拿一道由简版原题魔改之后的长题来给大家做个demo。

上周（2022.10.19）的托福家考出了这样一道独立托福写作考题【此前没有考过的全新题目，后续重复考到的概率很大】：

A city is trying to decide what to do with a large building that has become available in order to make it useful for city residents.Which ONE of the following solutions would you recommend?Why?

—Develop the building into housing for people who have low incomes

—Develop the building into a modern shopping and entertainment center

—Tear down the building and develop a park on the land

对托福机经稍有了解的同学应该不难想到，口语里面有一道题目与此题非常相似：

You live in a crowded city with only one piece of vacant land.Some people propose to build a housing complex on it,while others suggest that it sould be turned into a park.Which do you think this is a better idea?

这两道题目，非常符合我们一直与大家强调的三个出题趋势：

1.口语写作话题互换

2.ETS出新题频率变高

3.不少“新题”是简版老题的加长魔改

答这种政府应该花钱干嘛的题目，最底层的逻辑是“投资要使大多数人受益”，在较老的口语题中，空地变公园比起变住宅更能让大多数人受益，而在新版写作题里，由于多了shopping and entertainment center这个选项，公园就不再是最佳选择了，因为shopping and entertainment center明显能够同时容纳更多人，且提供比公园更多样化的服务和娱乐。另一个我们在写作题种不选公园的原因是，是这次需要利用不再是绿地或者空地，而是一个已经建成的建筑物，拆掉建筑物再建公园，恐怕是三个选项里最耗费资金和人力的，当然也就不会去选它。

在这里，小编想对愿意精益求精的考生们说，写作和口语题是可以分类的，但分类分的是底层逻辑，比如大家可以细看下面的英文提纲，那里面所有的内容都是尊重一个底层逻辑——政府的投资应尽最大可能使大家都受益。至于这时究竟谁是最佳选项，则得视题干条件和具体的给定选项，而不能死记硬背、生搬硬他地认为公园永远是首选。

写作新题参考提纲

Main idea:Turning the building into a shopping and entertainment center would be the best choice among the three.

Providing housing for low-income families and individuals is a good idea,but using just one building to do that is impractical.(Reasoning:people with low incomes work in different places that could be very distant from one another,and a lot of them may have difficulty commuting from their workplaces to this building)

Tearing down the building to create a park is not an ideal solution either,because the destruction of such a building as well as the construction of a new part would cause too many problems.(Reasoning:such a complex project would cost the government a lot of money,and it can also make the places nearby dusty and noisy)

Making the building a shopping and entertainment center can make almost everyone happy.(Details:more places to eat at and better entertainment;shopping becomes easier and less time-consuming for nearby citizens)
