3月4日 托福独立写作真题

A university is considering establishing a new requirement for graduation in addition to its normal requirements about completing coursework: all students must attend a course on public speaking to develop skills that will be useful in speaking in front of large groups of people. Do you agree or disagree that a public speaking course should be a requirement for all of the university's students? why?

这是一道教育类话题的should/ should not题型。

若选择should则说明public speaking course对谁是有什么好处的。这里的谁可以拆分成很多角度，如: 学生、大学、社会等，然后在主体段的Topic Sentence中再具体阐述是什么好处，如: 学生 – 使学生更有竞争力；大学 – 提高大学本身声誉 (接着竞争力来的，竞争力越强的学生成功的机会越大，最后反过来提高大学知名度)。

若选择should not则说明public speaking course对谁是有什么坏处的。然后遵循同样的逻辑去拆分即可。

3月8日 托福独立写作真题

Imagine that you have been given the opportunity to advise the government to spend more money on ONE thing to promote the prosperity of a poor and less-populated rural area. Which ONE of these do you believe would be the most beneficial for the region? Why?

- provide direct finance to small farmers

- encourage the development of new forms of business and industry

- do nothing because this is a natural development

首先，这是一道政府类话题的三选一题型。

三选一题型若是询问方案/策略/计划，都可以从可行性(accessibility)和有效性(effectiveness)两个角度来考虑。

比如provide direct finance to small farmers可行是因为首先开销对比起其他政府类支出如修建铁路或建筑来说很低；其次是因为直接提供经济支持相对来说操作便利，不耗时。

需要注意的一点是三选一非常建议写段内让步或让步段。这里紧接着就可以写encourage the development of new forms of business and industry不可行是因为这种poor and less-populated area中的居民无法很好地从事这些business与industry的工作，且也没有足够的人力。

关于有效性，direct finance assistance可以直接解决居民面临的困境，且可以提供一部分资金供他们购买农业设备等提高生产力从而提高收入。do nothing没有效果是因为缺少外部帮助，启动资金、器材等缺失无法通过内部自然解决。

3月18日 独立写作真题

Because economic growth is so important for modern societies, economic development should not be slowed down by concerns about the environment.

这是一道社会类话题的should/ should not题干

解题思路同上，这里若选择should not，两个角度可以是个人与社会。

个人 ：
环境的破坏会严重影响健康。可用例子: 1952年伦敦烟雾事件造成万人死亡

社会 ：
环境破坏拖慢社会发展。可用例子: 伦敦第一次工业革命后导致城市人口迅速增长，使得犯罪率上升破坏社会稳定性

3月10日 独立写作真题

In some schools, students are required to do a certain number of hours of community service, or activities that help their communities, like planting trees or providing food to those who need it. Participating in community service should be a requirement in all school.

这是一道教育类话题的should/ should not话题。

解题思路同上，这里若选择should not，两个角度可以是学生与学校。

学生 ：
占用时间使得学习效率下降；例子建议举个例。

学校：
增加开销，因为学校需要额外人工去确保学生人身安全。

3月25日 独立写作真题

A city is trying to decide what to do with a large building that has become available in order to make it useful for city residents. Which ONE of the following solutions would you recommend? Why?

-Develop the building into housing for people who have low incomes;

-Develop the building into a modern shopping and entertainment center;

-Tear down the building and develop a park on the land

这是一道政府类话题的三选一题型。

因为是政府类，所以题干下的三个选项均为方案，即可以从“可行性(accessibility)”与“有效性(effectiveness)”来考虑。

develop a park的可行性 – 开销低；housing开销高，因为需要各种家具及配套的水电等。

develop a park的有效性 – 使用率高，老少咸宜且可以容纳各种活动；shopping center使用率低因为一般较为花钱，且shopping或entertaining的频次一般不高。
