今天给大家讲解一个托福写作中的重要知识点，无论是在托福考试，还是四六级等其他任何需要进行学术写作的考试中，都会涉及到这个用法——即“，”和“the”的使用方式。可以说，只要你开始用英文写文章，就一定会涉及到这两个元素。它们的正确使用是写作评分原则【Grammatical rules】里的重要一项，掌握了这一点，我们托福写作的正确率一定会有大幅提升。
逗号“,”的用法
1.在多项举例中
【有超过3个的举例并列中，"and"前是需要用逗号进行连接的】
❌：I love A,B and C.
✔：I love A,B,and C.
2.在两个完整句子的连接中
【后面的句子前需要加连接词and,or,but,while,yet等，并且在其前加上逗号】
❌：I had a TOEFL Test last week,the results show that…
✔：I had a TOEFL Test last week,and the results show that…
特：像however,therefore,hence,consequently,nevertheless,thus等词一般是用在居首的，后面加上句号。但如果放在了句中，那么前后都是要有逗号的：
❌：I like sing songs.My mom however,hates sining.
✔：I like sing songs.However,my mom hates sining.
✔：I like sing songs.My mom,however,hates sining.
3.在实义副词引导的句子中
【副词之后必须要加逗号】
❌：Typically bees have certain substance that…
✔：Typically,bees have certain substance that…
“the”的用法
✔.要用"the"的时候
①它是唯一的：
eg:The instructor says that…/The prime minister states that…
②它之前被提到过：
eg:The man gave me a ticket.I looked at it,and saw that the ticket was a single.
③下面要被详细说明：
eg:What is the new student's name?
❌不用"the"的时候
①和school,prison,university,church,home,hospital等常见物、场所连用：
eg:My sister had to stay in hospital overnight.
②和常见的时间短语一些时间短语不用“the”：
eg:in 2002,in summer
eg:in August,on Friday,see you tomorrow等
